7 Days…

Well didn’t I get the Spring forecast all wrong.  I was sitting having a Coffee in York’s today looking out at the rain washing down Newhall Street into the roadworks that signalled that the real March is still here.

From the sun on my back on Tuesday, I had not a clue where it was today as the rain mist was so thick and grey.  I guess I am not going to be missing much after all.  I hear there is snow planned for Sunday too.  Bring out the gritters!, let’s have another snow day!, bring it all on!

I took on the might of the Indian Rail Catering and Tourism Corporation today.  All I need is a return ticket to Agra, but not being Indian or living in India creates a bit of a burden.  Nice people though and trying to be helpful, so restored my faith in bureaucracy.  Reading up on trying to get a SIM card for my iPhone in India will be an equal if not harder experience.

So it’s time to start packing and ticking off the checklist…I’ll be posting soon.

Hi Duggers, Been watching your progress and musings for some time now, always meaning to leave a reply, make some entirley unhelpful comment or just be plain miserable while you’re off having fun while the rest of us……
Anyway, looks like a fab trip, bit like one I did one winter 15 odd years ago except that I crammed it into six weeks holiday. So here are a couple of comments:
Singapore is fab – make sure you eat on the street and try Singapoer Chilli crab at least three times!! Airline stewardess suggested we went to Newtons Corner, which we did and everyone cooks over old 40 gal oil drums, I’m sure health and safety here would have a word or two to say but the food was fantastic. I expect the place has long gone as it was a large roundabout in the middle of a developmetn site!
Dont; waste time going to Ayers Rock (Ulhura, or whatever, I always though she was an officer on the SS Enterprise??). It is big lump of rown rock in the middle of a desert and only goes red a few times a year and it won’t be when you are there!!
Anyway, have a fab trip and carry on using all the social media you can so that you can bore us in a minute by minute basis with everthing that happens, every picture you take, every beer you drink and every thought that goes through your brain!

    have a great time.

    Cheers
